Councillors have slammed a move to build a block of high-rise flats for the elderly in place of the former Powergen site in Solihull.
Solihull Council’s planning committee finally approved plans last night for the ‘eyesore’ Powergen building on Haslucks Green Road in Shirley to be torn down and the surrounding area regenerated.
