NEW YORK: The one hundredth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards 2016 has been received.
Developers hoping to fill the city’s senior housing gap with an 11-storey, 163-unit senior home on the former National School Towel Service property, met with residents to discuss the project recently.
Michael McLean, representing 1815 Ridge Avenue, LLC, gave many community members their first look at the project at a city-sponsored community meeting Wednesday at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, located a few blocks south of the development at 1815 Oak Ave. No official action was taken at the meeting.
The developers’ plans call for a total of 165 units on the triangular-shaped site which formerly housed the one-storey towel company. The building would be located toward the east of Ridge Avenue, near Emerson Street on downtown’s western edge.
