Research finds chemical cosh patients are more likely to suffer strokes

key_paul_burstowNEW YORK: Dementia patients whose aggression and agitation is subdued with a so-called “chemical cosh” have been found to be six times more likely to suffer a stroke, according to new research into its use in north London.

Camden and Islington Foundation Trust psychiatrists have published “ground-breaking” findings that raise serious questions about the way “anti­psychotic” medication has been routinely used on non-psychotic patients in the past.
