New sensory room will use old photos, lights, sounds and smells to help recall memories

JS977859360150x150BOSTON: A purpose-built sensory room to help dementia patients communicate their thoughts and feelings is about to open in a Rhondda hospital.

The new room will open in the Lewis Merthyr Day Unit at Ysbyty George Thomas in Treorchy and will use projected video or photographs, sounds, lights, textures and smells to stimulate memories about patients’ lives.
