Housing and assisted care planned for Good Counsel site

636027273374297645-IMG-3240CHICAGO: Preliminary plans for a 10-story apartment building, graduate student housing and an assisted living facility on the former Good Counsel property on North Broadway were shared this week with the Common Council.

The Sisters of the Divine Compassion, which owned the 16-acre campus for 125 years, sold the property for $16.2 million in November to WP Development NB LLC. The Catholic order closed Our Lady of Good Counsel High School and moved Good Counsel Elementary School to the former Holy Name of Jesus school in Valhalla.
