County to vote on largest housing regeneration project

libertycity_t580 WASHINGTON, D.C.: Ahead of the Miami-Dade County Commission meeting to choose a developer for its largest housing project redevelopment to date, The Related Group’s founder Jorge M. Pérez for the first time released a public statement, saying the opportunity to change Liberty Square for the better has motivated him and his team through the bidding process.

Commissioners on Wednesday are being asked by County Mayor Carlos Gimenez to accept Related Urban Development Group — a subsidiary of The Related Group — as the developer of the $307 million project called Liberty Square Rising. Their vote would give approval to execute ground leases, a Master Development and finance agreements with Related Urban.
