Clinical profile developed to differentiate Lewy body dementia

shutterstock_288425825150CHICAGO: A research team at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center recently set out to develop a clinical profile to help correctly diagnose patients with Lewy body dementia.

The research team compared 21 patients with Lewy body dementia to 21 patients with Alzheimer’s disease, with patients carefully matched by age, gender, education, race, degree of cognitive impairment and degree of physical impairment. Each pair was studied using cognitive, functional, behavioural and motor measures.
