Dementia wanderers issue destroying public image of skilled nursing homes

CHICAGO: The image of the police being called in to search for dementia wanderers from skilled nursing homes is traducing the safe haven image of care custodians, and is opening up the management and staff to the increasing propensity to pursue civil damages and criminal prosecution.

Skilled nursing home owners don’t appear to believe implied and specified ‘service warranties’ apply.

Lawsuits will eventually put them out of business.

2. A 75-year old man had to be rescued by police after wandering from his skilled nursing home and ending up in a dangerous situation.

The man was reported missing from his skilled nursing home and hospital. He was found stuck down a bank near a river.

Four different fire brigades and the police Eagle helicopter worked to get him out before high tide…
