Proposal to turn hotel into assisted living home

DALLAS: A 148-room ex-hotel is to be transformed into an assisted living facility with a memory care component.

The developer expects to open by the end of this year and employ close to 100 workers. A $3 million-plus renovation is set to begin within two months.

“We’ll be doing a full renovation of the interior to allow for amenities that you would see at assisted living facilities, like a beauty shop, a grand dining room, a computer room,” the developer said, adding that the building’s exterior will also be painted. “It won’t be complete until late October.”
