NEW YORK: The two hundred and forty-sixth entry for the seniors housing Global Award for 2015 has been received.
Chattanooga Collaborative Senior Housing, an eight-unit development being created on Washington Street on the Southside, is for those retiring or thinking of retiring who want options other than assisted living and institutional care. The units are designed to share some spaces in a condo-like setting, while maintaining privacy and independence, said CCSH member Anne Curtis.
The building, designed by CCSH Development Company, LLC, will be ready for occupancy in 18 months.
“It’s a single, environmentally friendly building with eight small private units and 4,000 square feet of shared space for daily activities such as dining, housing overnight guests, creative endeavors and storage,” said member Jay Ku. “The design will encourage social interaction and support lifestyles as we remain in place.”
