DETROIT: Fifty-two per cent of those 75 and older live alone, according to a new report. The findings are based on a survey of 3,600 respondents.
Living alone in the 30-60 aged group is increasingly by choice. This age group is currently at 23 per cent and is expected to rise to 40 per cent within a decade.
The desire is to have a home for “me time”, where all aspects are shaped around “moi”.
