Senior living worker management is holding back recruitment

FORT WORTH: Senior living providers have failed to innovate in recruiting the large number of workers needed to grow the sector.

Career paths are poorly lit, continuous education is non-existent; incentive schemes are either convoluted or non-existent and no effort to lift the poor public image has succeeded.

The public still perceives working in care as having the lowest status and this is inhibiting service delivery care levels. Industry associations and their leaders have failed miserably to lift public acclamation and image and acted as brakemen on the bobsleigh at a time when gaining traction has become critical…
