NEW YORK: The ninety-fourth entry for the seniors housing Global Award for 2015 has been received.
New skilled nursing home developments in Sydney will add almost 6000 new skilled nursing and independent living places.
The boom follows legislation changes last year that deregulated the fees residential aged care providers can charge, said Mark Moran, the executive chairman of aged care services provider Mark Moran Group.
“Stereotypes around skilled nursing homes were being challenged. They’ve always been quite sterile. They’ve been more like a hospital than a skilled nursing home. With developing apartments that can also provide rest home style services, it’s turning that on its head. Suddenly we’ve now got skilled nursing homes, that people move into when they’re well and stay in them,” he added…
