Boomers create guerilla gardens in public spaces

INDIANAPOLIS: Boomers are behind the new guerilla garden movement.

Tomatoes, lettuces, an abundance of flowers, seating and an array of planter boxes, even an outside shower, form part of public ‘pop-up’ gardens.

But the urban oasis movement is now at the centre of a debate about how to better use dormant city spaces – without trampling on the rights of other residents.

Boomers argue they are improving often rubbish-infested and poorly maintained spaces…
