SEATTLE: A group of seniors housing developers has called for the implementation of recommendations based on a study last summer that call for a “Senior” section in all master and sector plans, a high-level Planning Department staffer dedicated to senior issues and for the pursuit of “Age-Friendly” designation from the World Health Organization.
The group held a series of panel discussions with planning officials, representatives from the development industry and experts on senior living. The Commission’s report found “the planning process is a complex system to understand and navigate for most citizens and especially older adults.”…
