Hearthstone Senior Communities caught up in negligence lawsuit

BARTOW: A lawsuit has been filed against owners and operators of Bartow Center nursing home which contends negligence led to an-above-the-knee leg amputation on a man who lived there for five months in 2013.

James W. Archer had a sore that became infected on the second toe of his right foot, the lawsuit said, requiring a toe amputation and ultimately the removal of part of his leg.

He also had numerous falls, according to the lawsuit filed by Wilkes & McHugh of Tampa for Archer and Doris Jamieson.
