Boomers and veteran generations shut down on spending

NEW YORK: The two wealthiest generations are shutting down on spending.

The silent generation/veterans (aged 70 to 100) were always frugal.

But the shock is the drop in spending by the previously profligate boomers (48-69 years).

Frustration over service standards, voice-mail wilderness, the drain of having to constantly chase delivery, a detestation of the ‘add-on’ culture and a desire to de-clutter are behind the sales drop-off…

This trend is covered in detail in the Seniors Housing & Healthcare Trends.
