NEW YORK: The four hundred and ninetieth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards 2016 has been received.
Horst Rosner and his neighbour on Line 10, Bryan Rosenberger, own about 50 acres of agricultural land. They have come up with a concept for an alternative form of Seniors’ accommodation, something geared towards active seniors who don’t want to retire to an apartment-style complex, or give up a rural lifestyle.
Their vision, “Concept Farm Living,” is being proposed as a kind of pilot project: a condominium development of single detached dwellings and farmland, where the condo owners would share orchards and a market garden, raising produce for their own use and for sale.
The land in question lies south of Line 10, and across Scanlon Creek. Some of the property is currently leased for farming, raising beans and corn. The surrounding area is wooded, and there are trails that will provide recreational opportunities…
