Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

trophy NEW YORK: The four hundred and thirtieth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards 2016 has been received.

A building tailored for blind and visually impaired people in the Oliver neighborhood was unanimously approved by City Council Monday.

The 35-storey tower will replace the current CNIB office at Jasper Avenue and 120 Street.

A visually impaired architect from San Francisco assisted with the design of the tower. He helped with the braille exterior, coloured glass and textured walkways to help people find the entrance. And the inside is as innovative as the outside, with signage, hallways and elevators all designed with the visually impaired in mind.
