Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

trophyNEW YORK: The two hundred and eleventh entry for the seniors housing Global Awards 2016 has been received.

While no city of Des Plaines building permits have yet been issued for the construction of a 68-unit assisted living facility at 959-997 Lee St., property owner Edward Soske said he hopes to start the process in 45 days.

The development was first approved in 2012, but after difficulty securing financing, Soske halted the project. In October 2015, Des Plaines aldermen approved plans for a 65,308 sq. ft., five-story facility that would operate 24 hours a day and employ 21 staff members per shift.
