MIAMI: The skilled nursing market is in trouble. Private polling shows bed use in a small decline, but the population number in its age catchment is up 11 percent. And now a plethora of program innovations threaten to exacerbate the decline.

‘Better Care’ plans to hook up health and social care organisations to root people in their existing homes; the multi generational house idea is being imported from Germany, and the shared lives concept from the UK…
