But evidence is mounting that age-apartheid compounds are increasingly becoming soft crime targets and the care sector is trashing its reputation by doing nothing to effectively counter the growing threat.

733: More than five thefts a day are taking place at skilled nursing homes in a single country, with elderly residents being robbed of millions in money, jewellery and treasured possessions in the last three and a half years.
