Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

trophy1NEW YORK: The ninetieth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards 2016 has been received.

The Gardens at Northgate Village broke ground Feb. 2 on its fourth phase.

The first phase of the community for residents age 55 and older was completed in 2005. Since that time, the development has expanded twice, in 2008 and in 2013, and now totals 258 homes.

The fourth phase will provide 60 more apartment-style homes. It will consist of 20 one-bedroom apartments, 12 of which include a den, and 40 two-bedroom apartments, plus a fitness center, library, game room and community room. Pre-leasing is set to begin this spring.
