Seniors housing developers compete for Global Award

trophy1 NEW YORK: The one thousand and twenty-eighth entry for the seniors housing Global Awards for 2015 has been received.

Uber Technologies Inc. will pay Oakland around $1 million for affordable housing as part of its conversion of the city’s former Sears Building into office space.

The project is subject to the city’s jobs/housing impact fee, which charges new office and warehouse development, and the funds will be earmarked for the city’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund, said Rachel Flynn, Oakland’s planning director.
