DALLAS: In the latest salvo in an ongoing battle between the planning authorities and the developer of proposed housing for the mentally ill, a lawyer says he will file a fraud complaint.
He asserts the applicant filed an application suggesting zoning approvals for the project were in place.
He sent a Freedom of Information request to get a copy of the application. He said he will file a complaint of fraud and filing a false instrument with the authorities.
“It doesn’t mention anything about not having an application, not having anything filed,” he said.
The developer says he did nothing wrong. “He’s certainly entitled to file a complaint. We certainly don’t feel we have done anything fraudulent,” he said.
The developer plans to offer 20 apartments for seniors, 54 for low-wage workers, and 50 for the disabled and mentally ill…
