New lobbying group mooted to represent ‘city seniors’

newDALLAS: A new advocacy group for the elderly plans to get active in the city where the aging population is expected to grow by 40% over 25 years.

Nearly 60% of private-sector workers lack access to an adequate pension and more than two-thirds of city residents say they are unsure how they will afford retirement.

A city-based advocacy campaign will address political candidate forums, lobbying and more over 50s representation.

The group is recruiting volunteers in the hope of influencing future elections…
