DALLAS: The elderly will be encouraged to take part in sport under a new drive to beat dementia, reduce the risk of cancer and “keep older hearts healthy”.
The minister for sport says that she wants to end the “embarrassment” and “intimidation” that older people feel about taking part in sport.
She says “sport is out there for everyone” and urges older people to play “walking football” and table tennis.
